Chapter 5

The quest to find Najikala Island

　
"This looks like a space laboratory of some sort.” Ian said. “Look at those computers and buttons.”

River turned the big computer in the middle on; there was a video recording of Drone saying. “This video is meant for River to see in the event that Yamarah and I have not returned home. I gave Andric instructions not to give the paper with the map to anyone unless we did not return home in a reasonable time. Before I continue to speak, I would like to apologize to River for not telling him where we were going for our honeymoon. Yamarah did not know our destination until we boarded the boa. I also asked Yamarah if she was willing to go with me. I did not want her to feel obligated to come with me. Yamarah was very happy to come with me. I am sure Andric told you about the island. I have been wondering for years how to come back to my island. One day I decided to build this laboratory and bought the equipment necessary to build a satellite to find my island. Lat year, I finally found it and planned the trip to go see my family and people. I never thought that I would be going back to my island with a wife. I did not realize or forgot how dangerous these ocean waters are. I made sure the boat for your trip is strong and safe, but one never knows. That is why I left instructions for you to find this lab and follow the instructions, to come and find us. I promise you River, that I will never let anything happen to your mother. On the beachside near the mountains there is a big boat. The boat is hidden between two large caves, it is very well equipped with all the modern technology, GPS, and living accommodations’ you will be very comfortable. There are different color buttons on the left of this computer, press the green button and a drawer will come out, it is a safe, open it by pressing the yellow button once, the green button three times and the red button once. There are 5 pieces of different size diamond keys. Take the keys with you. You will connect each to its different keyhole on the boat. When you get to the boat you will find everything you need and figure all out for yourself. Do not let anyone see you. Only whoever will be traveling with you. The computer will give you further instructions on how to operate the boat. Open it when you leave here, remember to turn off everything and close everything else. Have a safe trip, and I hope that you find us and we are all safe. God bless.”

The video turned off and the computer then showed them the picture of where the island was. “That is a very tiny island.” River said. “I hope we find it.”

“That will be an adventure for us.” Paulie said.

“Lets read all the instructions and make sure we do everything right.” Ian said

The men read all the instructions, opened the safe, got the diamond keys, made sure everything was turned off, closed everything and left.

“We can start our journey early tomorrow morning.” Ian said. “We don’t know how long we will be away. We can stay in Drones cabin for tonight.”

“Good idea.” Paulie said. “I can go to my parents and say good bye.”

“No Paulie, you cannot say anything to anyone.” River said. “Not even your parents. We all stay in the cabin and go before dawn. No one will see us get to the boat, your parents know we are going away, let them think that we left.”

Everyone got ready and went to bed early. River got up before dawn and woke up Paulie and Ian. The three men walked down the mountain, walked across the beach front, found the cave, and the boat.

“Wow! That’s a big boat.” Paulie said.

“Let’s board the boat and get out of here as soon as we can.” River said. “We don’t want anyone seeing us.”

The three men boarded the boat. They looked all over the boat.

“This is more than a boat,” Ian said. “It has everything, a kitchen, bedrooms, living room, and a bathroom in each room. It has all the amenities a yacht has.

Let’s go see how we are going to steer this boat.”

“Drone sure said it right when he said this boat had the most modern technology equipment.” Paulie said. “Do you know how to operate all them Gadgets River?

“The instructions were very simple.” River said. “Besides, the boat has an automatic pilot. We turn it on when we go to sleep or eat.”

“Don’t worry Paulie.” Ian said, “I know how to operate it. I have sailed ships before. Now let’s star this boat and get out of here before anyone sees us. River, you turn the boat on, Paulie go untie the ropes, and I will pull the anchor up.”

River used the Diamond key that fit in the ignition and turned the boat on, Paulie untied the ropes, and Ian pulled the anchor up. River noticed two different keyholes, one next to the engine and one next to the steering wheel. “Two of the keys must belong to those keyholes.” River said. “I wonder where the other two key belong.”

“I will tell you in due time.” “A woman’s voice was heard.

“Whoa! Who said that?” Paulie said.

“It is me the computer on the boat. My name is Yoly. I will be giving you instructions when you need them. I was built to help find different islands via satellite. I only operate when the diamond keys are used, or when the secret code is used. Only Drone knows the code and it is written on a secret place. Now relax and enjoy the ride. Yes, humor is also in one of my circuits.”

The boat sailed far into the ocean before anyone noticed it. The sea was tranquil, the sun was shining, and the fish could be seen jumping out of the water. Farther and farther into the sea, the whales and other giant fish were seen, it was a beautiful sight. The men had lunch and relaxed, River read the navigating charts on the computer, and the day went smooth. River told Yoly to take over and went to bed.

Days passed and the ocean began to get rough, the waves began to get bigger and there was no sign of land. The boat began to sway, rain began to fall and there was a lot of thunder and lightning. “We are having a big storm.” Ian said. I hope it is not bad.”

“Do you have any idea where we are?” Paulie asked.

“No I don’t.” River said. “Yoly where are we? We have been traveling for days and there is no island in sight.”

“We are entering the Bermuda triangle.” Yoly said. “There is much danger in front of us“

“The Bermuda triangle!” Ian exclaimed. “We can’t go through the Bermuda triangle, every ship or plane that has gone through it has disappeared.”

“The only way to find Najikala Island is through the Bermuda Triangle.” Yoly said.

“No wonder mother and Drone disappeared.” River said. They must have disappeared like everything else. But how are we going to get them?”

“Not to worry River.” Yoly said. I will navigate the ship while all of you sleep.”

“Sleep? You expect us to sleep while you go through the triangle?” Paulie asked.

“My instructions were to take the boat to Najikala Island,” Yoly said. “What you do is your business.

The storm got worse, the thunder and lightning got stronger and the boat began to move from side to side. Ian and Paulie went out to the deck and a big wave slammed on the boat. Giant waves began to appear, and the boat began to fiercely sway back and forth. Ian and Paulie returned to the bridge and closed the door.

“Wow, this storm is bad.” Paulie said.

“Feels like a hurricane.” Ian said

“River, take one of the diamond keys and insert it in the keyhole next to the engine. Turn it to the right, then sit on the chair and fasten your seatbelt. River did as he was told; Ian and Paulie got on the seats and fastened their seat belts. River began to get sleepy. “Ian, I am getting so sleepy.” River said. “. “I can’t keep my eyes open.”

“Me too.” Ian said. “What is going on?”

“Yoly said that we were approaching the Bermuda Triangle.” Paulie said. “She also said that we were going to sleep. What is going on Yoly? What did you do to us? I don’t want to go to sleep.”

“Yes we are going through the Bermuda triangle.” Yoly said. “It is too dangerous while we are going through the Bermuda Triangle for you to be awake. Good night.”

All three chairs leaned back and the men fell asleep.

What is happening? It has been said that anyone attempting to cross the Bermuda Triangle has disappeared. Will the boat with River, Ian and Paulie disappear too?

Chapter 4
Where are Yamarah and Drone?


River took a couple of days off work to go look for Yamarah and Drone. Paulie and Ian were going to help River look for his mother and Drone. None of the workers at the airports, cruise ships, all forms of transportation, no one knew or had heard from Drone and Yamarah. River summoned all of the staff at the house and asked if anyone knew or had heart where the married couple where going to on their honey moon. One of the young maids said that she had overheard Drone say something about Magic Island.

“Magic Island? I have never heard of that.” River said.

Andric’s eyes lit and he looked surprised.

“Andric, do you now anything about this?” River asked. “Please, I have to know where my mother is. If you do not tell me, I will call the police and then you will have to them. I know that you and Drone share a lot of secrets, but this is one secret that you will have to share with us.”

Andric looked at River and said. “I did not think that Drone would take Yamarah to the island, River. We still do not know if he did, but they have taken too long to return. Maybe the island is farther than Drone thought, since he has not been there since he was a boy”

“What and where is Magic Island?” River asked.

“The name is Najikala.” It is a small Island far out in the sea. That is where Drone was born. Drone was very adventurous and one day decided to go adventure, he wanted to seen what was across the ocean. Drone had never seen other islands. There was a big storm, and a giant tidal wave swept Drone to shore near the mountains on the other side of the cave. Drone knew how to take care of himself and built a hut and ate fish and fruits. Drone walked toward the mountains and decided to build a cabin at the top of one of the mountains. One day Drone was walking down along the side of one of the mountains, and found a cave. Curious, Drone decided to find out where the cave led. There was loud sound of thunder and Drone walked to where the sound was coming from. Drone found an exit leading outside saw Brutus being swept away in the mud slide, and saved him. Drone got curious and began to visit the other side of the mountain, then went to the city often. Drone made sure that no one ever saw him. Drone learned the ways of the city people. One day Drone discovered gold, in the cave. While digging the gold, a very old couple appeared to Drone and warned him not to ever let any one know about the gold or about the cave. Only those who need saving are allowed to enter the cave and live on the other side, in peace, otherwise the entrance to the cave will disappear and no one will ever be allowed to go in or out. Drone never told me what happened to the old couple. That is why I never go into the cave. I am sure Drone has told you all about me… Drone was always saying that he was going back to his island some day. He wanted to see his parents and his people again. I guess he went back and took Yamarah with him to see his island and meet his parents and people. He calls it Magic Island.”

“Do you know how to contact Drone?” River said. “I need to know that my mother is safe.”

“I think that Drone has something in his cabin in the mountains.” Andric said. “You are going to have to go to the cabin in the mountains and find it. I will give you a piece of paper that Drone had given me to hold for him, with all the information. I am sure that Drone does not mind me giving it to you. I had no idea that Drone was going to go to the island for his honeymoon. Do not worry, they are fine, I have complete confidence that Drone will keep Yamarah safe.”

Andric went to his room, found the piece of paper and gave it to River. “When you find them, please let us know if they are safe.” Andric said. “Please tell Drone to accept my apologies for telling you about the island, but I know that he would understand.”

“Thank you Drone.” River said. “I am going to the other side of the cave now.”

“I will go with your River.” Ian said.”

“I will go too.” Paulie said.

River, Ian and Paulie set out to go to the mountains. “What are we going to tell the women?” Paulie asked. “They will worry about us not knowing where we are going.”

“I will explain to them that you had to go out of out of the country to go look for them, and did not have time to say goodbye.” Andric said. “As we know, none of them can go to the cave unless it is to save their lives. They will want to go with you and ask many questions that can’t be answered. Now go before it gets dark.”

River, Paulie and Ian went to the cave, entered and walked across the cave. Paulie stopped at his parent’s house and explain that River was looking for a clue to go find Yamarah and Drone. Ian went with River to the cabin.

River looked at the piece of paper, it was parchment paper. The paper had a drawing of a diamond.”

River said. “There is a picture of something in the middle of the diamond, and an arrow pointing to it.”

There was a knock on the door, “Hello, you guys in here?” Paulie asked.

“Come on in the door is open.” River said.

“Did you find anything yet?” Paulie Asked.

“No, not yet. “ River said. “I am looking at the paper that Andric gave me. It has a drawing of a diamond, and inside the diamond there is an arrow pointing toward a picture, that looks like a tree near a cave. Let’s look for a picture around the cabin that has a tree near a cave.”

“Wait, maybe it is not a picture of anything, there may be a tree next to the cave.” Ian said.

“You are right Ian.” Paulie said. “Let’s go to the cave entrance, I think there is a tree near the cave entrance.”

River, Ian and Paulie walked to the cave entrance and saw the tree in the drawing. “OK, now what are we looking for?” River asked.

The men looked all around the tree and found nothing. River sat under the tree and asked. “What is going on, what are we looking for?”

“Look at the Caterpillar River.” Paulie said. “It is turning into a butterfly.”

“Paulie, we have no time for look at butterflies.” River said.” I want to find my mother.”

“River, come look.” Paulie insisted. “There is something here you have to see, it’s like the butterfly is showing us something.”

“Paulie, you and your imagination.” Ian said.

River looked at the butterfly and noticed that there was something behind the butterfly there was an arrow carved on the tree pointing down. River looked under the root of the tree, and there was big diamond key. “OK now what do we do with this key.” River said.

“Let’s go in the cave and see if we can find a diamond mine.” Ian said.

River went into the cave and paulie and Ian followed. The men walked all around the cave and could not find anything. “Lets look around one more time and then we go rest.” Ian said. “It is going to get dark soon.”

There was aloud roar, giant footsteps were approaching. “Oh no!” Paulie exclaimed. “Here comes Brutus again.”

Brutus jumped on River knocking him against the wall. “What are you doing here Brutus?’ River said. “I guess Drone brought you back to the mountains knowing that he was going to move back. I guess you miss Drone.”

“River, look!” Paulie houted. “That looks like a key hole.”

River shined the lamp on the wall and said. “You are right Paulie. I’m going to insert the diamond key and see what happens.”

River inserted the diamond key, and the wall opened. River, Ian and Paulie went inside. “Wow it’s spooky in here.” Paulie said.

“What is this?” Ian asked. “There are only walls around how are we going to get in contact with Drone and Yamarah?”

“Wait, there is something shining on the wall ahead of us. It looks like a switch.” River said. River walked toward the wall, touched the shining thing and lights turned on.

“Wow!” Paulie exclaimed with amazement in his face and voice. “What is this?”

“I don’t know.” River said, looking in front of him.” I have never seen anything like this.”

“Isn’t this supposed to be a gold mine?” River asked. “I feel like I am inside a big diamond, except these are not diamonds. This feels like something from outer space.”
River was amazed, speechless, he did not know what to say, he was afraid to even think. “Where is my mother?” River asked. “Who or what is Drone? What has he done with my mother?”

Chapter 3
River is worried


The reception ended when the bride and groom left. Cachita, Paulie and his parents stood at Drone’s house, River took Yurania Ylang and her parents’ home and then returned to Drone’s house. The next morning Cachita and Paulie went to their apartments at the college campus, and River and Yurania went back to the hospital.
The following Morning River got an unexpected visitor. It was Ian. “What are you doing here?” River asked. “Are you sick?”
“Hi River.” Ian said. “No, I am not sick. I came to bring my son for therapy on his leg. He had a slight accident in his motorcycle, and today is the last day of his therapy. His wife is expecting a baby and was unable to drive him. Do you work here?”
“Yes, I am doing my internship here.” River replied.
“Here comes my son now.” Ian said.” I would like you to meet him. Jon I want you to meet River.”
River and Jon looked at each other. “Jon is your son?” River asked. “Hello Jon, it has been a log time. Remember me?”
“Of curse I remember you.” Jon said. How have you been? You work here?”
“Yes, I am doing my internship here.” River replied. “I want to help others regain their eyesight.”
“You two know each other?” Ian asked.
“Yes dad, we graduated from the same college.” Jon replied. “How do you know River?”
“River’s mom is my parent’s friend.” Jon replied. “River, I would like you to come over for dinner one night? Maybe we can go fishing or to a baseball game. Jon can come with us. I bet you have not gone out with they guys in the longest.”
“That’s a good idea.” Jon said. We can talk about old times. How about going fishing on Saturday? Do you work that day?”
“That would be good.” River said. “I have not gone out or done anything in a long time. As a matter of fact I am free that day. Ylang is working that day; I am free to go out with you guys.”
“You are still going out with Yurania Ylang?” Jon Asked. “I married Pamela; she is going to have a baby in a couple of weeks.”
“Yes, Ylang and I are still together.” River said. “We are waiting to finish our internship, and then get married. Well, I have to go back to work. I will see you Saturday.”
“Good, we will pick you up here Saturday early in the morning.” Ian said. “I will have the rods and everything ready. Bye.”
River went back to his office, he was glad to see Ian again.
Saturday morning, Ian and Jon picked River up, and went fishing. They had lots of fun and caught a lot of fish. River and Jon cleaned the fish and Ian cooked them. Ian enjoyed being with his two sons who did not know, that they were brothers. “We have to do this again boys.” Ian said. “I hope you boys are enjoying yourselves.”
“I think it’s time to go home.” Jon said. “Pamela is alone at home, her due date is soon and I do not like to leave her alone for too long.”
“You are right.” River said. “I have to get up early in the morning to start my shift at the hospital. I want to spend some time with Ylang.”
The men packed everything up and went home.
River spent some time with Yurania Ylang, who had finished her shift at the hospital. “Rive, have you heard from your mother and Drone?” Yurania Ylang asked.
“No, I haven’t.” River replied. “It has been a week since they left. They must still be having fun in their honeymoon. I am sure we will hear from them soon. Mom would not go to her new home without saying goodbye to me first.”
“You are right.” Yurania Ylang said. “Did they tell you where they were going River?”
“No, as a matter of fact they did not.” River replied. “I am going to ask Andric, maybe he knows. We can go tomorrow after our shift, since we both get out at the same time.”
The following day, River and Yurania Ylang went to Drone’s house and asked Andric if he knew where Yamarah and Drone went for their honeymoon. “I really do not know where they went.” Andric said. “I thought they had told you where they were going River.” Maybe in the excitement they forgot to tell anyone where they were going. Don’t worry, wherever they are, Drone will take good care of your mother.”
“You are right Andric; mother will be fine with Drone.” River said. “Besides, mother has my cell number and if there is anything wrong, she will call or text me. We better get back to the hospital Ylang. Let’s go out and have dinner before we go to the hospital.”
“Good idea.” Yurania Ylang said. “We have not gone out to dinner in a while.”
“Andric, if you hear from Mother or Drone, please let me know. “ River said.
“I sure will. “ Andric said” ‘Go and enjoy yourself with your fiancé, I am sure we will hear from them soon.”
River and Yurania Ylang went to have dinner, and then went home. A month passed, and neither River nor anyone heard had from Yamarah and Drone. River was beginning to worry. “I am going to the mountains.” River said. “Maybe they went straight home and will come visit us later. It is not like my mother to leave and not call me to let me know how everything is and how I am. I am going to ask Paulie to go with me.” Yurania Ylanag agreed and told River to come back as soon as he heard any news. Paulie and River went to the other side of the mountain.
The boys first stopped at Paulie’s mother‘s house. “I have not heard from Drone or Yamarah since the day of the wedding. Paulie’s mother said. “They should have been back by now. Maybe they decided to stay longer.”
“I am going to the big house, then to the cottage.” River said. “Maybe they are there.” River and Paulie went to the big house and the cottage and there was no sign of them. “Let’s go home.” River said. Maybe they got home or someone has heard from them.” River and Paulie returned to their homes.
“Don’t worry River.” Yurania Ylang said. “I am sure they are safe. Drone would never let anything happen to your mother. Go rest you have to work in the morning, remember that you have double shift. River went to bed and woke up early the next morning. “I am probably worrying for nothing.” River said to himself. “Mother is probably shopping and enjoying herself, and I am acting like a child. I am just not used to mother going away for so long. She is married now and has her own life, I must respect it.” River went on to do his work.
Ian made plans to go see River again; he wanted to keep in contact with River and win his trust and friendship. “When Yamarah comes back and tells River who his father is, there will be no resentments.” Ian said. “I will be very happy to know that I can relate with my two sons. Ian called River and invited him and Yurania Ylang to have dinner in his house; he also invited Jon and Pamela. Ian’s wife was not too happy, but she accepted.
That evening River, Yurania Ylang, Jon, Pamela and Ian had a wonderful dinner. Ian’s wife was very pleasant too. After dinner, everyone went to the parlor, drank wine and exchanged conversation. Everyone got along fine.
“Ohhh, what a pain, whew!” Pamela exclaimed. “I think the baby is coming sooner than I thought.”
“What? Are you sure? Jon screamed. “Oh my God, Oh my God! What now? Jon started running and yelling. “Get the ambulance, get the car, get something. Oh my!
“Will you be still Jon?” Pamela yelled. “You are driving me nuts! We still have time. Father Ian, will you please drive me to the hospital? I don’t trust Jon driving.”
“Of course I will drive you.” Ian said. “Let’s go Jon.” Jon ran outside and got into the car forgetting to take Pamela.
River was laughing, and as he was helping Pamela to the car, said. “Jon, I think that you forgot something.”
Jon got out of the car and said. “What did I forget? I am taking my wife to the hospital to give birth to my baby. Jon looked at River and asked. “What are you doing with my wife?” Then realizing what he was doing he grabbed Pamela and helped her into the car. “I’m sorry River.” Jon said. “I don’t know what I am doing. This is my first baby.” Ian drove Pamela and Jon to the hospital accompanied by his wife. River and Cachita followed in their car.
Hours later Pamela had given birth to a beautiful Baby girl. Everyone was happy, River tried to be happy but he could not.
“What is the matter River? Ian asked. You seem very preoccupied, is there anything wrong? Did I do anything wrong?”
“No Ian, it’s just me.” River replied. You have done nothing wrong, the dinner was good. All was good; I had a wonderful time with all of you. I am glad you have a beautiful granddaughter. It is just me. I am worried about my mother. I have not heard from her for too long.”
“Has your mother called you?” Ian said. “Do you know where she is? You mean to say that she has not come back from the honeymoon?”
“No, mother has not returned from the honeymoon.” River replied. “I don’t even know where she went for her honey moon. No one knows. I am very worried.”
“That is very strange.” Ian said. “It is late now, but I will help you to look for her in the morning. Maybe she went straight to the mountain.”
“I went to the mountains.” River said. “Mother was not there either.”
Where is Yamarah? Where did Drone take her? Why isn’t Rivers mother back from her honeymoon?

Yamarah and Drone get married

　

Excuse me, do I know you?” Ian asked. “You look very familiar”

“Your name is Ian?” Yamarah asked. “You remind me of somebody I knew 20 years ago; He said his name was Jon. He disappeared and I never saw him again.”

“My dear Yamarah.” Marcela said. “Ian lived here 20 years ago, it couldn’t be him. Let‘s go and decorate your cottage, I want to come and be with my son as soon as I can. We have so much to talk about.”

River was waiting outside and walked inside saying, “Mother we have to go.”

Marcela then introduced Drone and River to Ian. “This is Yamarah’s Son River.” Marcela said. “He is 20 years old and is an intern at the hospital studying to be a surgeon.”

River shook Ian’s hand, and said. “Nice to meet you.”

Ian stared at River and said. “I feel as though I know you. Is Drone your father?”

“No, he is soon to be my step-father.” River said. “I never met my father; he disappeared before I was born.”

Drone felt that something strange was going on, but preferred to ask Yamarah when they got home. “Let’s hurry and do what we have to do.” Drone said. “We will talk later when we have finished.”

Everyone but Ian left to go to the cottage and guest house. Yamarah was very quiet; she could not get Ian out of her mind. “It’s impossible, Ian cannot be Jon.” Yamarah said softly. “But he looks so much like Jon.”

“Did you say something?” Marcela asked.

“No, I was just thinking out loud.” Yamarah replied. “Marcela may I ask you, how long ago did Ian go away?

“It was 20 years ago.” Marcela replied. “I can’t ever forget the day he left. I am so happy that he came back, why do you ask?”

“It’s nothing.” Yamarah replied. “I was just curious. I will tell you more when I find out. I think I have met Ian before.”

The women finished decorating the cottage, and the men finished with the guesthouse. Marcela, Nano, and Paulie went to their homes, River. Yamarah and Drone stood in Drones old cottage that night.

Drone notice that Yamarah was preoccupied. “What is the matter Yamarah? Drone asked. “You have been acting very strange since you met Ian. Have you met him before? Please my love whatever it is, do not be afraid to talk to me. We will be getting married soon and there should be no secrets between us. Whatever it is, you can tell me.”

“I do not want to hurt you Drone.” Yamarah said. “Ian reminds me so much of River’s father. Marcela says he lived here since he was born, but she also said he left 20 years ago to go to the city. Could it be possible that Ian and Jon is the same person? Did Ian lie to me? I have to find out. Do you mind if I talk to Ian tomorrow?”

“No, I don’t mind.” Drone said “Do you want me to be with you?”

“I want to speak to Ian by myself.” Yamarah said. “Please do not be upset.”

“I am not upset my love.” Drone said. “You go to Marcela’s house in the morning. I will go and make sure all is finished at the guest house. I will wait here for you. Then we can go back home to the city. We have a wedding to prepare for.” Drone kissed Yamarah and went to sleep.

The following morning, Yamarah got up and went to Marcela’s house. “Good morning Yamarah.” Marcela said. What are you doing here so early? Is anything wrong?”

“Good morning Marcela.” Yamarah replied. Nothing is wrong. Is Ian here? I really must talk to him. It is very important. I will tell you after I speak to your son.”

Marcela was curious and said.” He went to the river, he has always loved to go and sit down to read.”

“I will find him.” Yamarah said. “I will be back soon.”

Yamarah walked toward the river and saw Ian sitting on a log reading. “Hello Jon.” Yamarah said. “You still do not remember who I am? I am the young girl you abandoned 20 years ago, after you made love to me in the barn.”

Ian looked at Yamarah very sadly and said. “You are the young girl, whose father helped me many years ago? You lived on the other side of the cave? Yes, now I remember you. Please forgive me for not remembering you. I was a very young man, you have changed, and you look more mature and just as beautiful.”

“You forgot about me 20 years ago, after you made love to me. “Yamarah said. “I went to get you in the morning and you had left without saying good-bye. I never knew why you left. My father was very angry at me, when he found out I was pregnant. You never came back for me. Why? I want to know why. Was I an adventure for you, a poor innocent camp girl who knew nothing abut men? How can you be so cruel?”

“I am so sorry Yamarah.” Ian said. “I had just arrived from here; I knew nothing about the other side of the mountain. I had no money and no food. When I saw your father and he offered me food and shelter, I was not even thinking about women. I had never made love to a woman. I was attracted to you, and when I felt your body near me it was something I had never experienced. I never meant to hurt you. Please forgive me.”

“Why did you tell me your name was Jon?” Yamarah said. “Why did you lie about your name?”

“I don’t know.” Ian said. “I was stupid. You say you were pregnant, what did you have? Oh my God, how stupid can I be?” Ian hit himself on the head. “Is River my son?”

“Yes, River is your son.” Yamarah said. “There was a hurricane and the river swept the whole village. I was pregnant and escaped through the cave.” Yamarah told Ian what had happened and how Nano and Marcela saved her and River. “Oh my God!” Yamarah exclaimed. “All the years living with Nano and Marcela and none of us knew that River is their grandchild. What have you been doing all of these years with our life Ian? You never came to see your parents until now. They have been worried about you.”

“After I left your home, I went to the city.” Ian replied. “I found a job at a fast food restaurant, and went to school. I graduated from college and became a lawyer. I then met Emma, got my Bar license, found employment with a well known company, bought a house, and got married. We have a son named Jon, who just graduated from college. I have not told my wife about the cave, because we are not allowed to tell anyone. I want to take my parents to the city to meet them. Yamarah, I am so sorry about what I did to you. I was very young and inexperienced. Had I known I had a son, I would have looked for you. Do you want to tell him I am his father now?”

“No, we can’t tell River anything yet. Yamarah said. “I have to tell Drone first, then your parents. I have to explain to River, what happened between us, before I introduce you to him. Besides my wedding is on Sunday, and I do not want anything to go wrong. Friday we are getting together for a pre-wedding dinner at Drone’s house in the city. Your parents, Paulie and his parents, will be there, and some other friends. It will be a good idea for you to get acquainted with River until he knows the truth. Your parents can meet your wife and son, and then go to the dinner after. You are welcomed to bring your wife and son to the dinner party. After Drone and I come back from our honeymoon I will tell River about you, then I will introduce you. Do you agree?”
“Whatever you want to do“. Ian said. “I forgot to mention I named my son Jon because I like the name. I will see you on Friday.”

Yamarah went back to Drone, who was waiting for her outside. “

What happened?” Drones asked. “Were you right?”

Yamarah told Drone everything she and Ian talked about. “Do you still want to marry me on Sunday?” Yamarah asked.

“Of course I want to marry you my love.” Drone said. “I was afraid you might change your mind and not want to marry me. Like you said to Ian, you will tell him about his father when we come back from our honeymoon. I am also glad that you invited him, his wife and his son to the pre-wedding dinner. Let’s go home now.”

“Thank you Drone.” Yamarah said. “You have been very understanding. Know that I love you very much and am proud to marry you. What happened between me and Ian was a childhood thing. Neither of us knew better. He did no know he had a son, and its best that River knows who his father is. I will not let anything ruin our wedding. Yes, let’s go home now. We have a lot to do.”

Drone, and Yamarah joined River and Paulie and they went home to the city.

Friday night, everyone was having a good time at the pre-wedding dinner. Ian arrived, but did not take his wife to the party. “My wife is not feeling very well.” Ian said. “She sends her apologies and wishes you the best. My son had a date and could not come.”

“Maybe they can make it to the wedding.” Drone said. “Where are your parents?’

“My parents are here.” Ian said. “They are coming in right now.”

Yamarah went to greet Marcela and Nano. “Marcela I have to talk to you in private.” Yamarah said. “It is very important; I have to tell you before I go to my honeymoon.”

“Is anything wrong?” Marcela asked. “You look very serious.”

Yamarah led Marcela to the den and said. “What I’m about to tell you, must not be said to anyone until I tell him.”

“Say what, and to whom?” Marcela said. “You are frightening me.”

“I found River’s father.” Yamarah said. “Ian is River’s father.”

Marcela almost fell to the floor. “What? No! It can’t be.” Marcela said with a surprised look.

“Ian had told me that is name was Jon.” Yamarah said. “You and Nano saved your grandson and me. You had been living with your grandson all those years. Ian told me that the day we met, he had come from the other side of the cave.” Yamarah explained everything she and Ian talked about.

“MY God, River is my grandson.” Marcela said. “I can’t believe it, but I am so happy. No wonder I love River so much. Does River know?”

“River does no know yet.” Yamarah said. “I do not want to tell him until I come back from the honeymoon. I have to explain things to him, and now is not the time. I do not want anything to spoil my wedding. Please do not tell anyone until I tell River.”

“It is going to be hard.” Marcela said, “But I will not tell anyone, I do however have to tell Nano. Is it OK?”

“Yes, you can tell Nano, but no one else please.” Yamarah said. “Did you meet your other grandson Jon, and Ian’s wife?”

“Oh yes, I met them.” Marcela said. “Jon is very handsome and sweet. Ian’s wife is very nice, not too friendly, but she is nice.”

Yamarah and Marcela returned to the party, everyone had a wonderful time. Later in the night, the men and women were separated. Marcela, Yurania Ylang and Cachita had a surprise bridal shower for Yamarah, and River, Andric and Nano had a surprise Bachelor party for Drone. Everyone had a wonderful time.

It was now Easter Sunday, and the day of the wedding. The garden was beautifully decorated with Tulips, daffodils and other Easter flowers. Everything was beautifully adorned; the Wedding cake was also adorned with beautiful Easter flowers. Drone looked very distinguished with his tuxedo, anxiously waiting for his bride to be. River looked very handsome.

The bridal music began as the beautiful Bridesmaids walked accompanied by their handsome partners. The flower girl threw the flower buds gently on the floor accompanied by the handsome ring bearer, who was carrying a pillow that resembled a white water lily. The Matron of honor Yurania Ylang followed looking very radiant.

The wedding march began and the beautiful bride seemed to be floating on air. Yamarah wore a beautiful, light pink gown, on her head was, a pink diamonds tiara over a long light pink veil, cascading over her back and face. The bouquet had 8 Calla Lilies, light pink roses accented with stephanotis and greenery, hand tied with a light pink satin ribbon, and a wrapped handle accented with laces and pearls.

The couple was wed, and the ceremony was beautiful. Yamarah and Drone went on to their honeymoon.

Chapter-1
Yamarah and Drone get engaged
　
River, Yurania Ylang, Paulie and Cachita continued their education and went to another college, in a nearby city. River and Yurania Ylang were also given an internship at the hospital where River had his eye surgery. Paulie decided to be an Architect and Cachita was studying Psychology. Yamarah had gone back to the mountains with Drone to see Marcella and Nano, and then decided to go back to the city to try and find her parents.
Drone had fallen in love with Yamarah and asked her to marry him. River was very happy knowing that his mother found a good man who would make her happy. Yamarah wanted to find her parents, and introduce Drone to them, Yamarah remembered where her parents lived, but was not sure if they were still living there after the storm. Drone drove Yamarah and to their surprise her parents had rebuilt their house and were still living in the same town.
Yamarah got out of the car and walked toward the house, she knocked on the door and an old man with white hair and a white mustache opened the door. It was her father. “May I help you?” Jacob said.
“Father, it’s me Yamarah, your daughter.” Yamarah said. “Don’t you remember me?”
Jacob was surprised and did not know what to do or say.
“Who is there Jacob?” Ines said. Jacob could not say a word; tears were running down his cheeks. “It is me mother.” Yamarah said. “Your daughter.”
Ines was overwhelmed to see her daughter, screaming with, happiness and crying said. “Yamarah, my darling daughter, you are alive.” Mother and daughter embraced. “Jacob, it’s our daughter. She is alive.” Ines said.
Jacob then embraced his daughter and said. “Thank God you are alive my dear daughter. We thought that you had drowned in the river when the hurricane hit us. I looked for you, but could not find you. Where have you been all these years?”
Yamarah then introduced Drone and told her parents that Drone had saved her and took her to his home in his country. Yamarah did not tell her parents about the cave. “I did not remember where I was or what had happened after the storm.” Yamarah said. “I also gave birth to a baby boy; I gave him the name River, because he was born in the river.” Yamarah told her parents about River and his eyesight problem. Yamarah also explained, that River was home schooled at an early age and when he went to the city his grades were above average, and he had enough credits to go to the same college as Yurania Ylang, Paulie, Cachita and the other kids, who were just as smart, at an early age.
“Your sisters are all married and moved away.” Ines said. “They come to see us once in a while. They too have children of their own. Your brother is married and has kids also; he graduated from college and works in a bank. I am so glad you are alive.”
“I want you and father to come visit us.” Yamarah said. “We can send Andric to pick you up.”
“That would be wonderful.” Ines said. “We can meet our Grandson River.”
Yamarah hugged and kissed her parents and Drone took her to his house.
“Drone, after we are married, I would like to go back to live in the mountains.” Yamarah said. “I miss the quiet life there. What do you think?”
“I have been thinking the same thing.” Drone replied. ‘I can build a bigger house with lots of rooms.”
“Drone, is it alright if we only have a small and simple cottage for us?” Yamarah asked. “You can build a big guest house for River and our other friends when they visit.”
“That is a good idea my love.” Drone said. “I will hire Nano, I am sure he can use the money, and Paulie can help.” Drone embraced Yamarah and they kissed tenderly. “We have not even set the date of our wedding.” Drone said. “You pick the date.”
“How about getting married on Easter Sunday? Yamarah said. “We can invite our friends and family, make it a Garden wedding. The kids will be able to come and will not miss school. They can also take the day off from work. What do you think?”
Easter Sunday it will be.” Drone said. “We can go on a cruise to Magic Island for our honeymoon.”
“Magic Island!” Yamarah exclaimed. “I have never heard of it, Where is it?”
“It’s a surprise.” Drone said. “Trust me, you will love it.”
“It sounds exciting.” Yamarah said. “I will go anywhere with you. We have to let everyone know that we have set our wedding date.”
That weekend, River, and Yurania Ylang, went to Drone’s house to visit. Yamarah had invited her parents and Paulie for dinner, Cachita and Andric were also there. Everyone was at the table dining and Drone got up and said. “We have invited you all here today, because we want to announce our wedding date. We will be getting married on Easter Sunday. Let’s lift up our cups and share our happiness.” Everyone lifted their cups and Drone said, “To our never ending happiness.”
“Hear, hear!” everyone said.
“Father and mother, will you give me away?” Yamarah said.
“Of course we will. “ Jacob said. “It will be an honor.”
“I want River to be my Best Man and Yurania Ylang, my Matron of honor Yamarah said. “I would also love for Cachita to be my Maid of honor with Paulie as my groom.”
Everyone enjoyed the dinner, and later went to the living room to reminisce old times. After a while Andric drove Yamarah’s parents’ home and everyone went to bed.
The following Morning River and Yurania Ylang went back to the hospital to continue their internship. Paulie and Cachita went back to their college dorm. Paulie and Cachita were both in the same college, but in different buildings. The college they were in offered many other subjects.
Paulie wanted to get married right away, but Cachita preferred to wait until they finished college. Paulie had no choice but to agree, he adored Cachita.
` Yamarah continued with her wedding plans, and Drone went to visit Nano to ask him if he was able to start building the cottage and guest house. Nano was more than happy to help Drone. Paulie drew the plans for the house and cottage. “I want everything finished before the wedding.” Drone said,
The cottage was built in the mountains; it had the living room, a dining room, the kitchen, three bedrooms, a den, very spacious closets and a bathroom in every room. The master bedroom had a big bathroom with a shower stall and a big hot tub. The front of the house had a big porch; Drone knew how much Yamarah loved flower and hung beautiful pots full of flowers around it. Two rocking chairs and a swing were also placed on the porch. The trees and flowers around the cottage decorated the scenery. The guest house was built near the cottage; it had a kitchen, dining room, living room o the first floor, and ten bedrooms with a bathroom in every room. A big garage was built between the cottage and the guest house. Drone hired new people, who lived near the mountains, to take care of the guesthouse. Yamarah did not want any servants at the cottage; she wanted to do everything for her and her future husband.
When the cottage and the guest house were finished, Drone took Yamarah to see them. “They are beautiful.” Yamarah said. “We have to go shopping for furniture, curtains, and everything needed to decorate them. You can have the staff decorate the guesthouse, but I will decorate the cottage. I love the rocking chairs and swing that you put on the porch. I want to go visit Marcella now. We have not talked very much since I went to your house. Will you please take me, there now, before we leave?”
“Of course I will, my love.” Drone replied. “I know you have a lot to talk about.”
Drone walked Yamarah to Marcella’s house. “I will come back for you later.” Drone said. “I want to make sure everything is all set before we leave.”
Marcella was very happy to see Yamarah. “It is so good to see you again.” Marcella said. “I am very happy that you will live near me now. I missed you very much.”
“I hope you will go to my wedding.” Yamarah said. “Drone will pick you up the Day before the wedding.
“I would not miss it for anything in this world.” Marcella said. “I have to buy new clothes too.”
“I have an idea! Yamarah said. “Why don’t you come over next week and we can go shopping for my wedding dress, we can also go shopping for my honeymoon attire, and you can buy your clothes. Please say yes, I would love to have you accompany me”
“Yes, I will.” Marcella replied. I have not gone shopping in ages; it will be so much fun.”
After visiting for a while, Drone and Yamarah went home to the city. The following Saturday, Yamarah sent Andric to go pick Marcella up and they went shopping.
Yamarah ordered her wedding dress, bought the shoes and wedding attire. Marcella bought her dress and outfit for the wedding reception and she bought Nano’s clothing and shoes for the wedding. Yamarah also picked out the furniture for the cottage and the curtains and everything she wanted for her new home. Drone looked for a way to have Andric, Paulie, Nano, and River to carry everything to the other side of the cave without letting anyone know or see them. Most of the furniture was made by Drone, Nano and Paulie.
Marcella then went back home and Yamarah made plans to go fix the cottage the following week. Yamarah wanted to do everything for her cottage herself.
The following week, on a Friday Yamarah went to pick up Marcella, to help her decorate the cottage. Drone and River accompanied Yamarah. “Oh. I am so glad you are here.” Marcella said. “I have had the most wonderful surprise! My son Ian returned after all these years. This is my son Ian.”
Yamarah froze, her legs began to tremble. “You!!! Yamarah exclaimed. “It can’t be you! No!
